The following was the Speech given on the Home Page around the New Year 2024
Hello, everyone. I'm David Kopp, your neighborhood Saluda Precinct Treasurer. I'm here to ask you to make a New Year's resolution that will change your life and your community for the better. I'm asking you to join us in our mission to make Greenville County a place where our values and our voices are respected and heard.
We are a group of people who care about our community and want to make a difference. We are not satisfied with the status quo of politics as usual, where our taxes keep going up, our services keep going down, and our opinions keep being ignored. We are not powerless, we are powerful. We have the power to vote, to organize, to advocate, and to lead. We have the power to shape the future of our county.
But we can't do it alone. We need you. We need your passion, your skills, your ideas, and your energy. We need you to get involved with us and find out how you can help us help our community. We have over twenty-five committees that cover a wide range of issues and interests. Whether you care about pro-life, election integrity, candidate recruitment, or becoming a candidate yourself, we have a place for you. We have a place for everyone who shares our vision of a better Greenville County.
So please, don't wait any longer. Don't let another year go by without taking action. Don't let another opportunity slip away without making your voice count. Don't let another politician get away without being accountable to you. Join us today and make your New Year's resolution a reality. Together, we can make Greenville County great again. Thank you.
David Kopp
Dear Fellow Citizens,
A profound statement once echoed, "Political respect is only attained through political fear." These words hold undeniable truth. Why should the few in power feel no apprehension from the multitude of apathetic individuals in Greenville County? A significant portion of our populace remains unaware and uninterested in the affairs that shape our community. Consequently, those in authoritative positions continue to operate without genuine accountability. As members of the Greenville Republican Party, we are committed to altering this reality. Our aim is not only to raise public awareness regarding the county's affairs but also to provide every individual with the opportunity to voice their concerns and be acknowledged.
The Greenville Republican Party has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past three years. Previously, our focus was primarily on essential committees essential for conducting business meetings. However, as emphasized in my recent address, we have expanded our scope to encompass over twenty committees, with ongoing growth driven by the grassroots involvement of our members. Should you possess a passion that aligns with our values and find that there is no corresponding committee, we encourage you to establish a new committee dedicated to your cause.
I extend an invitation for your active participation across three specific committees mentioned in my speech. Firstly, the Pro-Life Committee recently witnessed a member waking up with a groundbreaking idea. This concept was promptly relayed to the committee's leader, who subsequently engaged with a councilman that led to legal action. The idea was presented during a recent council meeting and is scheduled for further consideration on January 2nd. Success in this endeavor would result in the closure of the Abortion clinic in Greenville County. We encourage you to attend the upcoming council meeting to learn more and voice your support.
Secondly, regarding Election Integrity, we are actively seeking poll watchers and have aligned with SCSafeelections.org to advocate for the adoption of paper ballots. Through trial paper ballot counts, we have demonstrated the efficiency of this method. We are congregating at the Columbia capital building on January 9th to demonstrate our support for paper ballots and invite you to join us.
Lastly, our committee responsible for candidate recruitment has made significant strides, leading successful campaigns in multiple elections. Notably, we have identified four Republican councilmen who are likely to contest against those who approved the substantial property tax increase for 2023, which is currently under litigation. Additionally, we are actively addressing the major school tax increase of 2023, with dedicated committees investigating the educational content funded by this levy.
There are significant developments taking place in our community, and we invite you to become an integral part of this transformation. If you are unable to dedicate time to active engagement but wish to support our cause, we encourage you to consider becoming a member of the Greenville Republican Party. Membership fees are $25 per year, or $40 for couples. (HERE). By providing us with your email, we will ensure that you stay informed about the events and initiatives in Greenville, regardless of your membership status. we believe that financial constraints should not hinder individuals from staying informed about the allocation of our tax dollars.
As we succeed in increasing public awareness, we will not only have a profound impact on the future of Greenville County but also play a pivotal role in reshaping the State Republican Party to better represent the conservative values held by everyday Republicans. We are grassroots Republicans, effecting change from the grassroots level rather than from the top down.
We sincerely hope that you will consider this opportunity. It is crucial to remember that in politics, as in life, actions speak louder than words. Additionally, we urge you to ponder the state of our country and county, and the potential consequences of widespread civic disengagement. Far too often, elections are decided by a minority of voters.
Your active participation is instrumental in shaping the future of our community. Your involvement will make a difference, and we hope you will join us in this endeavor to preserve our way of life.
Sincerely, The Saluda Precinct

Welcome to our Precinct
The speech and the letter to fellow citizens was emphasized during Christmas season when we sent 423 Christmas cards to residents in Saluda Precinct. Though some of the information is no longer relevant, the message still is. We will NOT effect political change without a growing involvement by the citizens of Greenville County, and our emphasis is the Saluda Precinct. DO YOU KNOW YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AT ALL LEVELS OF GOVERNMENT THAT REPRESENT YOU? THEY DECIDE ON HOW YOU WILL RAISE YOUR CHILDREN, WHERE YOU LIVE, HOW YOU LIVE, AND QUALITY OF LIFE. IF THEY DON'T KNOW YOU, OR WHAT YOU NEED, THEIR NEEDS WILL TAKE PROMINANCE AND WE WILL NOT HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT.
